Social Innovation Lab - Community Project Proposal
What is the Social Innovation Lab? The Social Innovation Lab (SIL) supports community-led research, policy engagement, and social advancement in the areas of gender, sexuality, and culture. The community-university “laboratory” format brings together community organizations, students, and faculty to collaborate on projects ranging from community evaluation, social analysis, policy review, to advocacy work, and much more.
Where do you come in? The Lab employs 5-6 graduate and law students per year who are excited to work with community partners. We invite you to dream big about projects/initiatives/problems that you are facing in your organization that would be well-served by a student researcher who will be supervised by a team of faculty members from Women's and Gender Studies, Law, Psychology, the Indigenous Students Mentorship Network, and the Johnson Shoyama School of Public Policy
The best part is that YOU decide on the project and we are flexible in terms of the scope, format, and outcomes. If you have an idea, but don’t know how to frame it, we can help! Fill out this survey to get the wheels turning and someone will get back to you with current opportunities.
