Allyship in Action: Microaggressions Workshop- March 14, 2024; 1:30 - 4:30PM

Join the Division of Social Accountability on March 14th to continue the learning and legacy of Dr. Chester M. Pierce, a Black physician who sought language to talk about the ways that he saw non-Black Americans treating their neighbours. Dr. Pierce’s innovative approach to a previously silenced issue has helped to create space for further dialogue around racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination. This session delves into Dr. Pierce’s work, helping participants to recognize and address microaggressions. Through interactive discussions, case examples, and practical strategies, attendees gain insights into the impact of seemingly innocuous comments on marginalized groups. This workshop promotes empathy and action, equipping individuals with tools to challenge biased behaviors.
