Introduction
The District of Summerland is in the process of creating a new vision and Downtown Neighbourhood Action Plan. The plan will reflect the future outlook of Summerland’s Official Community Plan and will highlight social and economic sustainability. A strong focus of the process is the creation of a Master Plan for Memorial Park. This Master Plan is intended to revitalize the space as a focal point for the immediate neighbourhood and Summerland as a whole.
A Design Charrette was held on October 13, 2021, and several stakeholders were asked about their vision for the park and Downtown Summerland. 24 identified stakeholders attended the charrette to provide input, and the feedback received was used to identify themes and priorities, as well as two concept plan options for Memorial Park. We would like to hear your feedback on the priorities as well as the concept options and the different elements they contain.
