In order to apply for a Dean's Doctoral Scholarship for International Students, the following conditions must be met:
  • Applicants must be continuing international students in a doctoral-level program at the University of Saskatchewan.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80.00%.
  • Applicants must have completed no more than 24 months in a doctoral program as of December 31, 2024.
The following documents are required for this competition:
  • Outline of Proposed Research (max. 2 pages)
  • Bibliography (max. 5 pages)
  • Canadian Common CV (use the Vanier-Banting template)
  • Photocopies of official transcripts from all universities attended (unofficial transcripts from USask only will be accepted)
Each application must include two reference assessments. Assessments should be completed by individuals who are familiar enough with your research and/or other abilities that they can provide a meaningful commentary (for example, current or previous academic research supervisor, industrial supervisor, employment/volunteer supervisor, teacher or thesis advisor).

Applicants must contact your proposed references to ensure they are willing to complete an online assessment. Applicants are responsible for providing the URL to their references.

Please note, as outlined in the CGPS policy on Centrally Administered Funding, that a student may not hold two major internal institutional scholarships at the same time, or a major institutional scholarship and a major external scholarship. A major scholarship is defined as equal to or more than $20,000 per annum. Top-up awards and honorary scholarships at a reduced value may be combined with major scholarships. It is your responsibility to inform CGPS of any such funding that you are receiving.
