Thank you for your interest in volunteering with International Student Services (ISS) and the UVic Global Community (GC) to support International Student Welcome Week Programming. There will be in-person and online opportunities to volunteer this year! 

ISS Orientation Activities & Volunteer Opportunities:

There are many exciting opportunities to volunteer with International Student Services during the orientation season. The opportunities include:

  • International Student Welcome Opening Presentation - Activity Leader Volunteers (online)
  • Global Community Hike Volunteers (in-person)
  • Bus Tour Guides (in-person)
  • Find Your Classroom Tour Guides (in-person)
  • Discover Your Campus Activity (Cross Campus Scavenger Hunt) Activity Leaders (in-person)
  • Victoria Photo Scavenger Hunt Activity Leaders (in-person)
  • Global Community Beach Social Volunteers & Activity Leaders (in-person)
  • Information Table Hosts (in-person)

As a Volunteer, you have the responsibility to:

  • Be punctual for your volunteer shift
  • Be reliable and responsible
  • Welcome new students and ensure they are engaged in Orientation programming
  • Answer questions and refer students to appropriate resources
  • Inform students about how they can get involved in Global Community Programs
  • Have a positive, supportive, and welcoming attitude!
