Thank you for your interest in volunteering with International Student Services (ISS) and the UVic Global Community (GC) to support International Student Welcome Week Programming. There will be in-person and online opportunities to volunteer this year!

ISS Orientation Activities & Volunteer Opportunities:

There are many exciting opportunities to volunteer with International Student Services during the orientation season. The opportunities include:

International Student Welcome Opening Presentation - Activity Leader Volunteers (online)
Global Community Hike Volunteers (in-person)
Bus Tour Guides (in-person)
Find Your Classroom Tour Guides (in-person)
Discover Your Campus Activity (Cross Campus Scavenger Hunt) Activity Leaders (in-person)
Victoria Photo Scavenger Hunt Activity Leaders (in-person)
Global Community Beach Social Volunteers & Activity Leaders (in-person)
Information Table Hosts (in-person)

As a Volunteer, you have the responsibility to:

Be punctual for your volunteer shift
Be reliable and responsible
Welcome new students and ensure they are engaged in Orientation programming
Answer questions and refer students to appropriate resources
Inform students about how they can get involved in Global Community Programs
Have a positive, supportive, and welcoming attitude!
