Introduction

WELCOME!

This survey has been created by the Ocean Literacy and Climate Change Priority Area Team of the Ocean Literacy Research Community (OLRC) to analyze what messaging works best, its efficacy, and what are the main drivers and motivations to carry out climate-related ocean actions.

CLIMATE-RELATED OCEAN ACTIONS

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has defined climate action as a stepped-up effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-induced impacts, including:
·         mitigating climate change
·         adapting to the impacts of climate change
·         contributing to understanding climate change

A climate-related ocean action is, therefore, an action taken for the ocean that addresses climate change. This is an action that falls under both Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 14 (Life below water) and 13 (Climate Action).

ABOUT THE SURVEY

Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you can stop participating at any time. The questionnaire will take approximately 10-20 minutes.

The aim is to achieve a better (and general) understanding of effective climate change messaging and to share this learning with the OLRC, whose primary mission is to establish a coordinated, collaborative and inclusive Ocean Literacy research community for the UN Decade; to collaborate on and share research to ensure that Ocean Literacy initiatives strengthen society's relationship with the ocean in meaningful and measurable ways.

The information will be anonymised, aggregated, summarised and incorporated into potential dissemination materials such as website and social media content, presentation slides, grey papers and peer-reviewed articles.

NOTE: We are excited to be expanding this survey to multiple languages, and as a result, have switched platforms. If you have formerly completed a LimeSurvey on Climate Actions, there is no need to fill out a second survey. But please share the link to this survey with colleagues.
