ACE-WIL Member Survey 3-5 Minutes

In May 2019, the BC Provincial Government announced the creation of a $9M fund for public post-secondary institutions to explore and expand Work Integrated Learning opportunities. In total, 66 projects were funded and are a combination of individual campus, regional and provincial projects spanning fall 2019 to fall 2021. To showcase the results of these projects and to have a closer look at the research and programming accomplished with these funds ACE-WIL will be hosting a virtual Symposium in May and in November.

To assist in our planning, we would like to hear your format and topic preferences for the virtual symposium.

Additionally, the ACE-WIL Board would like to gather your input on how we can best provide information and service. Please take 2-5 minutes to fill out this brief survey.

Question Title

* 5. Your Board of Directors is currently reviewing our ACE-WIL Bylaws to ensure we’re up-to-date on best practices and governing our association effectively. One item we’re considering is the way that our Executive is selected.
Currently, immediately after the members elect the Directors at our Annual General Meeting, the new Board meets and selects who will serve in the Executive roles: President, Vice-President, and Secretary. The advantages of this method are that the continuing directors have experience working together and know who may be best able to take on the executive roles.
Another option would be to hold elections for the specific Executive positions similar to what is done for the directors, where the members would vote for each role. The advantages of this method are that heading into the elections, each nominee is clearly aware of the role they will be accepting and the commitment involved.
Which process would you prefer?
