Ransomware Survey [2023] |
The objectives of this study are to investigate the prevalence of ransomware attacks against businesses in Canada, and to identify possible ways to prevent and/or mitigate such attacks.
The study is being conducted by the International CyberCrime Research Centre, in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University. The study is sponsored in part by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. It should take you approximately 20-25 minutes to complete this survey. Your participation in the survey is greatly appreciated.
We would encourage all owners and/or managers of Canadian-based businesses to complete the online survey, regardless of whether or not they have been victimized by ransomware, as we are hoping to obtain as broad and representative a sample as possible. For reasons of anonymity and privacy, we are not keeping track of survey participants; therefore, we would ask that you do not complete the survey more than once, as this could adversely affect the representativeness of our sample. With this issue of representativeness in mind, we would also request that only ONE person from your business completes this survey.
