Introduction

The District of Tumbler Ridge is preparing a Residential Development Plan to responsibly and sustainably manage growth in the community. The plan will evaluate and maximize the potential of identified land parcels for housing development while considering environmental, social, and economic factors.

Some of these factors and challenges Tumbler Ridge is facing related to residential development include:
  • A diversifying economy, with new and growing industries
  • Boom-bust cycles of resource industries that cause population fluctuations
  • Balancing economic development and environmental conservation, such as land reclamation, habitat protection and sustainable resource management
With these items in mind, we invite you to participate in this community survey that explores a vision, values, and specific questions related to future residential development in Tumbler Ridge. Your responses will help inform the priorities and focus areas set out in the Residential Development Plan.
