Equine colic: recognizing and understanding your horse’s gut feelings
Part of the WCVM's series of EquineED Talks that addresses key horse health issues
Equine colic or abdominal pain is a common issue in horses because of their unique anatomy and physiology. Unfortunately, colic can strike at any time and has many risk factors — including changes in diet or seasons. In this presentation, the WCVM team will discuss the clinical signs of colic, risk factors and prevention. Their talk will also cover diagnosis and treatment of the different types of colic.

Presenters:
• Dr. Chris Clark, associate professor, Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, WCVM
• Trinity Gibney and Emma Schaeffer, fourth-year WCVM veterinary students

Time/date: 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024
